We’re bridging the global movement
Builders and researchers around the world are developing crucial public-interest AI building blocks but initiatives are largely siloed. We are bridging those silos, fostering collaboration and cross-pollination.
Around the world, builders and researchers are developing crucial public-interest AI building blocks like datasets, models, audits, products, and applications. But so far, efforts haven’t compounded. With initiatives largely siloed, the public-interest AI ecosystem hasn’t benefited from collaboration and cross-pollination.
What if we thought of the entire open source AI ecosystem as collaborators and shared one roadmap, one mission, and one giant issues list? True resilience, we think, lies in collaboration. With our global perspective, we will cross-pollinate across regions and industries, spotting patterns in communities and connecting them to each other so that a breakthrough in one can spark solutions in another. We are building the technical and community infrastructure to underpin these connections —personal, intellectual, tactical—so that every effort is amplified.
This is the only way we can compete against proprietary AI and its deep pockets: we have to be scrappy, and our money and efforts have to go farther.
Current AI exists for this reason: to build the bridges of the people’s AI movement.
We build with collaborators.
We bridge the movement.
