About Current AI

Current Al is a first-of-its-kind global public-private partnership that brings together governments, foundations, and the private sector to build public interest AI at scale. Launched at the AI Action Summit in Paris in 2025, the organization has already raised hundreds of millions through partnerships with the French government, AI Collaborative, and other leading governments, philanthropic, and industry partners.

If AI is the transformative revolution we perceive it to be, it needs to serve the public interest today and tomorrow. At Current AI, our goal is to help build a collaborative, collective, and global vision for AI, not one governed by a specific country or a company.

Role Overview

We are looking for a People Operations Senior Manager to help build Current AI’s people function during a critical phase of organizational growth.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the People Operations Senior Manager will work closely with leadership to develop the systems, policies and practices that support a high-performing and inclusive organization.

As a young and growing organization, this role requires someone who is comfortable operating both strategically and operationally. In the near term, much of the work will be hands-on: running recruitment processes, building HR systems, supporting managers, and solving day-to-day people challenges.

We are therefore looking for someone who enjoys building things from scratch, is resourceful and pragmatic, has strong judgment and common sense, and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and getting into the details.

Over time, the role will evolve to include greater strategic responsibility as the organization grows and the people function expands.

What you’ll do

Build the People Function

  • Develop and implement HR policies and practices aligned with Current AI’s mission and organizational strategy
  • Build practical HR processes and systems covering recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee development
  • Ensure HR policies and systems support an inclusive, collaborative and high-performing workplace

Support Talent and Organizational Growth

  • Oversee and continuously improve recruitment processes
  • Design onboarding experiences that enable new team members to integrate quickly and effectively
  • Provide guidance to managers on team development, performance management and employee relations
  • Support employee engagement and professional growth across the organization

 Partner with Leadership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on people-related matters
  • Support managers in building strong teams and fostering a healthy organizational culture
  • Help leadership navigate organizational change as the organization grows

Support the Transition to an International Organization

  • Support the transition of employment contracts and relationships with global Employers of Record
  • Support the relocation and integration of staff members to Paris, France
  • Lead the development of HR policies and procedures
  • Develop the organization’s employee handbook

What we’re looking for

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in HR management or a related field
  • At least 7 years of HR experience, ideally in international or multilateral organizations
  • Experience designing and implementing HR policies, processes and systems
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to operate in fast-moving environments
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Understanding and familiarity with employment practices in International Organizations
  • Knowledge of French employment law and social security systems
  • Fluency in English and French
  • Strong organizational skills and a high sense of responsibility, efficiency, reliability and results
  • Demonstrable ability to enjoy and thrive in a start-up environment

Personal Qualities

We’re looking for people who:

  • Put the mission before personal credit and work well in low‑ego, collaborative teams
  • Enjoy building organizations from the ground up
  • Are comfortable moving between strategic thinking and hands‑on execution
  • Are resourceful, pragmatic and solutions‑oriented
  • Exercise sound judgment and integrity
  • Work effectively across cultures, disciplines and time zones
  • Are comfortable operating in a fast‑moving environment where processes are still evolving

The offer

We’re committed to ensuring that team members are supported, well-compensated, and able to thrive.
